Drawing a day : day 2

We have 2 llamas (might be alpacas) at work so I decided to draw one of them.
They are odd creatures!

Daily Drawing: Day 1

So I have decided to start a daily drawing challenge for myself.

I will try and draw something everyday, for the next month.
I realise I should have come up with this idea yesterday, as it was the 1st of the month, but ah well!

I have been finding it really difficult to get creative recently, and feel I need to really push myself to get drawing again. I think, as I now have a little part time job in the weekdays, I find it difficult to switch back into drawing mode.
I'm hoping this will soon change!

So here is my first drawing.

I decided to draw my desk and my view from my desk.

Its strange, I notice my pencil marks start so light when I first start a drawing and then get darker as I get more confident.

(By the way, that is a pint glass of blackcurrant squash, not beer.)

Cakes I made for Dad and Boyfriends Birthdays.

I made a marshmallow slab for the outside of boyfriends cake. Will be doing that again. It was a giant of a cake.

Craft It Forward!

Who wants to play Craft It Forward

If you love handmade packages and receiving things in the post (who doesn't??) then join in the game of craft it forward!

How do you participate?
It's simple! You just need to leave a comment on this blogpost and the first five who do that will receive one of the packages full of handmade stuff I put together! When you receive it, you need to blog about it (before the end of 2012) and give away five handmade things to five other people too! :)

The packages I put together contain different handmade stuff so you have to wait and see what you get!

I have been a rubbish participant in craft it forward as it has been ages since I received this beautiful package from Lisa Manuels. Life went a bit mental and then I was away for 3 weeks, but I have finally got round to it. phew!

Please only participate if you have time to blog about your Craft It Forward package and then also make and send a package of your own.

I adore Lisa's work so much. Such sweet little illustrations and characters. I am still deciding where to stick my sticker and who to post the card to :) (I don't want to part with it)

Mammoth lakes

I have been a bit lame at updating this it finally have a bit of time.

We are on mammoth lakes now. This is the prettiest place I think I have ever been. Lots of massive snow top mountains with lots of huge trees and lakes. Lovely.
We took a drive to Mono Lake today. The drive was beautiful and then the lake was really lovely. Also saw se chipmunks, snakes, lizards and birds.

The lake is about a third of it's original size due to California using it to provide water for LA etc but it is recovering.

One of the beaches on it is called Navy Beach because it was used on the cold war to test out machinery and weapons.

It also has these rocky areas on land and in the lake called 'tafu'
I need to research these more as I have no idea why the are called that!

It is a bit chilly here! Gets to -1 at night. Which is a bit different from the 36 degrees that we were having in Vegas!!

We are off to LA tomorrow. It will be a last long drive of the holiday
