Back to work
I am looking forward to getting into the projects, and organising our final show, and getting involved and making the most of my last year at uni.
Not looking forward to the essay though. :(
Will be keeping this blog updated with my uni work and plans.
Annoyingly, I think I've caught my boyfriends cold. bummer.

Good to Know project
Please go over to Pikaland and take a look at the 'good to know' zine. THIS ISSUE: Do you think that artists need to have degrees/qualifications from art school in order to be one? Did you study art? Does it matter?
I participated in this issue! You can find my opinion on the topic, and even a piece of my work in there. YAY!
There are so many great opinions on this topic. What would your answer be?
Please go check it out.
(the pattern above is a photocopy of some wallpaper i collected. Im going to make a file today with all the patterns i have got all over the place, so when I need them, I can find them!)

grumpy
I am unusually sulky about it.
We are hoping that another flat in the same building will come available before we have to move out, so we can just chuck all our stuff in the lift and into the new flat. fingers crossed.
Anyway, my sulkiness fueled some little drawings.
some very delayed photos
The Natural History Museum. I hadn't been here since I was little, but it's still as awesome. I love the building so much, and of course all the things inside it.
I think the ceiling is so pretty, I had to take a photo of it. Would love to have a ceiling like this.
We were in there for hours, and we still didnt manage to get round the whole museum. It's definately a whole day job, or a few visits. You could spend a day just in the fossils and rocks room. They have all the elements in there, I never realised how pretty sulphur is, (although smelly). Also, I've never thought that I was a diamonds and sparkly jewels girl, but as soon as I went into the 'Vault' room, I was in awe of these amazing things. Its crazy to think such beautiful things are natural. My birth stone is Topaz, and I just love the colours.

New cards
Just to say that I have just put a NEW HOME card in my etsy shop. I am quite pleased with it, might make a print out of it soon too, adding a bit more to it and things. exciting.
Was being a bit of a geek yesterday and was doing lots of notes and things for my essay next year. I want to make sure that I include all the theory stuff I know (thats relevant to my topic of course), and that I get loads of research done because I want it to be good and I want to have lots of time to write it when I get back to uni. My last essay was so bad that this one needs to be amazing.I hate writing essays!
Going to London tomorrow with my mum :) Hopefully get some inspiration for this essay and for my final major project next year. Anyone know of any good exhibitions on at the moment? especially illustrationy ones. :)

I love....
I remember first seeing this painting in the Tate Museum, and falling in love with it. I sat in front of it for ages! I just love the feeling it gave when I was sat in front of it, like a pureness. seeing each layer of paint or writing, or texture. Also the fact that it is actually massive.
All four of the paintings (the four seasons series) look amazing together, and I wish I could have them on my living room wall.

finishing my tasks for the day
drawing practise
ok, so whenever i sit down to draw something it normally becomes a big affair with me getting in a strop because it doesnt look right, or its not 'perfect'. Annoyingly, i know its never going to look perfect because i know im not the best drawer. Sooo, i need to start drawing loads to just get me drawing more to become more relaxed when drawing and to be able to draw something and not really mind that its a bit lop sided or doesnt look anything like what its meant to be.
so with help from lists made by the likes of Keri Smith and Michael Nobbs, I have started my mission of drawing more.. drawing everything!
Last night i chose 8 things from the above lists, that I would make myself do today.
My list is:
- Draw your morning cup of tea
- Make a sketchbook and set a date to fill it by.
- Draw while you listen to the radio
- Draw the contents of your bag
- Draw the book you are reading
- Open a cupboard and draw what you see
- Draw your shoes
- Draw your pet
Well, so far here are the results..
This is my little hand made sketch book, for me to fill up by...erm.. i havent set a date yet. i think by next week would be reasonable.
I love wallpaper, its so pretty and perfect for book covers! and its free. :)
I do have a tendancy for going round b&q just tearing of massive chunks of wallpaper as "samples". perfect.
Im going on to the rest now. Although I cant find my book that I am reading because Chris is also reading it, and I am unsure to its whereabouts. hmm....
